Distracted Driving Awareness Month

The National Safety Council has designated April as Distracted Driving Awareness Month. After a year in which traffic fatalities are expected to increase by as much as 9 percent, partially attributable to the rise in distracted driving, it seems more important than ever to get the word out about keeping one’s eyes on the road.

The National Safety Council’s website has information about distracted driving and what’s being done to bring attention to the problem. In 2013, documentary filmmaker Warner Herzog created a video called “From One Second to the Next” as a PSA for AT&T’s “It Can Wait” awareness campaign. He interviewed several people whose lives have been impacted by texting and driving.
