The Southern District is proud to include over 20 Student Chapters
over our nine states. While the size and activity level of each student
chapter varies, we embrace each one. We encourage and support student
involvement in every way possible. The Southern District offers a wide
variety of scholarships, paper competitions, student chapter
competitions, and travel opportunities, each with compensation provided.
We know that students are prospective peers in ITE and the
transportation engineering profession so therefore we promote student
activity – we want good students because they make great professionals!
We are honored that so many students have become involved over the
years. One of the most exciting things to see in the Southern District
is former student members who are currently active professional members.
